ABOUT ANTHONY
After his Grandfather and Father sat him in a drivers seat, racing has become second nature to Anthony Campi. The third generation driver was introduced to racing at the age of 4. Anthonys first championship came a year later, in 1996 with the Kids Kart Point Championship at the Gulf Coast Kartway in Sarasota, Florida. In the years that followed the Anthony Campi Racing team traveled state wide, as well as nationally, and accumulated over 65 wins and multiple championships. The competition had taken notice in 2000 when the young Florida driver defended his 1999 championship with another title at the Dirt Devil Speedway, all the while bringing home the Florida Karting Association Florida State Championship, as well as the World Karting Association National Title. In 2001 driving a limited schedule for points, Anthony drove to a 2nd place in the FKA state standings as well a 6th place in the WKA national standings.
At the age of 11 he progressed to the Legends Car Series. While competing against drivers 2 or 3
times his age, multiple wins led to a respectable 10th place points finish. With a year under his belt, Anthonys growth and experience helped him earn respect from fellow racers as well as a 4th place finish in the end of the year standings.
In 2005 Anthony jumped from a 1300 lb. and 122 hp. Legends car to a full size 2850 lb. truck with double the horsepower. After preparing and testing a brand new race truck, the newly formed Fastruck Series would be the next move forward for the ACR team. In 2006 while battling in his first full time year of completion, the young rookie driver earned himself the Winter Heat II Champion, Fastruck Kids Champion and Rookie of the Year. The ROYAL -TEES sponsored driver also competed in the adults Fastruck Division with multiple wins and fast time pole position starts at the age of 15.
The Super Late Model Division was next for the ACR team in 2007. After building and testing a new super late model, the Hoosier Elite Super Late Model Series at DESOTO SUPERSPEEDWAY, was the next title up for grabs. The 2008 race season produced a third place point standing finish as well as Rookie of the Year honors. With hard work and determination anything can be accomplished and 2009 that proved to be true. Against stellar drivers from around the state and nationally the Wm. F. McDonough Plumbing Inc/ Custom Carts Inc entry brought home its first title in the Hoosier Elite Late Model Series. The 81 Super Late Model driver battled to a 3rd place finish in the final standings with multiple wins in 2010.
